To Prevent the delicate pastry being destroyed in transit, your steak pie will come to you with the meat filling cooked and frozen in the ashet. You will also be sent a frozen pastry lid which you will have to place on top and glaze.
Your steak pie will then need to be oven cooked by you until the pastry is crisp and golden and the meat filling is piping hot.
Cooking guidlines for a Puddledub steak pie,
Your pie is delivered frozen and unfired.
Step 1 Remove pie from freezer,
Step 2 Place pie in fridge over night to defrost,
Step 3 Remove all packaging from pie,
Step 4 Glaze pie with egg or milk
Step 5 Pre heat oven to 200°C
Step 6 Place pie in hot oven and cook at 200°C (Gas mark 6)
For about 1 hour. This will reheat the meat and cook the pastry. Make sure meat is piping hot.
Step 7 Serve steak pie piping hot.
