To Prevent the delicate pastry being destroyed in transit, your steak pie will come to you with the meat filling cooked and frozen in the ashet. You will also be sent a frozen pastry lid which you will need to attach and glaze with egg or milk.
Your steak pie will then need to be oven cooked until the pastry is crisp and golden and the meat filling is piping hot.
Cooking guidelines for puddledub steak pies
Step 1 remove pie from freezer.
Step 2 Place pie in fridge to defrost over night
Step 3 Remove all packaging from pie
Step 4 Glaze pie with egg or milk
Step 5 Pre heat oven to 200°C
Step 6 Place pie in hot oven and cook at 200°C ( Gas mark 6 )
For about 1hr 20 mins. This will allow the meat to re heat and the pastry to cook.
Step 7 Serve piping hot.
